Verona rewards the traveller who wanders off the guidebook route, and a scooter is the easiest way to do it. Ride from the Roman stones of the Arena di Verona to the quiet balcony courtyard of Casa di Giulietta in minutes, then keep going — up to the hilltop at Castel San Pietro for the view that postcards never quite capture, or out along the Adige toward the vineyards. If you want to rent a scooter in Verona, our website puts that freedom within easy reach.
Verona's centre is compact but dense with narrow medieval lanes, and much of it sits inside a ZTL zone that shuts cars out entirely. A scooter slips through where cars can't go and parks steps from whatever you came to see. It also opens up the wider region: Lago di Garda is a half-hour ride away, and the hills of Valpolicella and the walled town of Soave make for an easy countryside loop once you've had your fill of the old town. Walking or waiting on buses just can't cover that much ground in a day.
For mopeds up to 50cc you'll need at least a category AM licence; scooters between 50cc and 125cc call for category A1. Some rental operators accept a full car (B) licence for 125cc machines, but this varies, so it's worth confirming before you book. If your licence was issued outside the EU/EEA, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. Expect a security deposit, usually held on a credit card, and most operators ask that riders be at least 18.
Prices swing a lot with the season: figure on 5–15 EUR per day in low season, rising to 20–35 EUR in high season, with premium models running 35–50 EUR per day.
High season runs June to August, overlapping with the Opera Festival crowds and the steepest prices, so book ahead if you're travelling then. Low season stretches from November to February, with the lightest prices and the least competition for bikes. If you'd rather skip both extremes, aim for spring or early autumn, when Verona is warm, quieter and easier on the wallet than peak summer.
Italy drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for every rider and passenger on a scooter, moped or motorcycle, no exceptions. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas, 90 km/h on regular roads outside town, and up to 130 km/h on motorways, though a 50cc moped is capped at 45 km/h and can't use motorways or main dual carriageways. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, dropping to zero for anyone under 21 or who has held a licence less than three years. Keep your headlight on at all times while riding, and stay alert for Verona's camera-enforced ZTL zone in the historic centre — entering without a permit brings an automatic fine that can catch up with you months later.
On our website you can rent the following types of scooters: classic scooter, Vespa, moped, motoroller, motoscooter, with a sidecar, with automatic or manual gears, three-wheeled scooters, large, maxi-scooter, touring, scooters with a windscreen and a roof, underbones, electric scooters.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a scooter without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online scooter reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: integral helmet, GPS navigation, intercom, unlimited mileage, top case, side cases, boots, jacket, gloves, individual guide or tour, map, full insurance, one-way rental, delivery to your hotel, delivery to your address, delivery to the arrival point of your choice.
