Tinos rarely tops the shortlist next to Mykonos or Santorini, and that's exactly why it rewards exploring on your own wheels. Rent a quad in Tinos Town and you can climb the switchback road to Exombourgo, where a ruined Venetian fortress sits above a 360° sweep of the Cyclades, then wind inland to Volax, a village ringed by giant granite boulders where basket weavers still work by hand. A quad gets you to both without a single tour bus in sight.
Tinos is compact but rugged — a hilly island laced with narrow village lanes, steep approaches and unpaved backroads that a scooter struggles with and a car can't squeeze into or park near. A quad gives you the stability of four wheels with the reach of a motorbike, so the dirt tracks to the island's dovecotes and the tight lanes of hillside villages are no longer off-limits.
You'll need a valid driving licence — the exact category depends on how the quad is registered, so check with the rental company when you book. Non-EU visitors should carry an International Driving Permit. Most operators set a minimum age around 18 and will ask for a deposit, usually held on a credit card, before handing over the keys.
Expect roughly 15–20 EUR per day for a basic quad in the low season, rising to 25–35 EUR per day at the July–August peak. Larger-engine or newer models run higher.
If you're travelling in July or August, book ahead — quads sell out and prices sit at their yearly high. May, June and September bring quieter roads, milder heat and better rates, and are generally the most enjoyable months to ride. Most island rental shops close over winter, from around November to March.
Greece drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for rider and passenger, and enforcement is strict. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on the open road. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, tightening to 0.2 g/l for novice riders. Rental insurance almost always excludes unpaved roads and beaches, so keep to the tarmac to stay covered.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
