Lamia doesn't get the postcard attention of Santorini or Mykonos, and that's exactly what makes it worth exploring on your own terms. Picture climbing the old road toward Thermopylae, where Leonidas made his stand in 480 BC, then dropping down to soak in the hot springs nearby before turning the throttle toward the waterfront cafés of Kamena Vourla. A quad bike gets you through all of it in one afternoon, no timetable required.
Lamia sits right where the flat Spercheios valley meets the slopes of Mount Oiti, and that mix of terrain is exactly why a quad makes more sense here than a scooter or a rental car. You can cruise the paved coastal road along the Maliakos Gulf one hour and switch to unpaved mountain tracks toward Oiti National Park the next — no other vehicle handles both surfaces this comfortably, and the town's limited public transport won't get you to half of these places anyway.
In Greece, a driving licence is required for a quad bike, and the exact category depends on how the vehicle is type-approved — it's worth confirming this detail with the rental company before you book. Rental shops generally set their own minimum age, often higher than the legal minimum, and you'll usually need to leave a deposit, either as a card hold or in cash. If you're travelling from outside the EU, bring your International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your regular licence.
Average rental prices run from EUR 15–20 per day in low season up to EUR 30–40 per day in high season, with larger-engine models (300cc and above) or two-seat quads running EUR 40–55 per day.
High season runs July through August, when prices peak and the best quads are booked out early — it's also when the heat can climb past 35°C, making a full day of riding tougher. Low season, from November to March, brings the cheapest rates but also cooler, wetter conditions on the mountain routes. For the best balance of good weather and easy prices, May–June and September–October are your sweet spot.
Greece drives on the right, and helmets are compulsory for every rider and passenger on a quad bike — enforcement is strict, and fines add up quickly. Speed limits sit at 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on the open road, so take it easy once you're out past the town centre. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l generally, but drops to a strict 0.2 g/l for novice riders in their first two years. Keep in mind that insurance almost always excludes unpaved roads and off-road use, so check with your rental company exactly which of Oiti's tracks are covered before you head up the mountain.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
