Patmos rewards the traveller who leaves the harbor behind. Climb out of Skala on a quad and the island opens up fast — switchback roads to Chora, the whitewashed hill town wrapped around the fortress-like Monastery of Saint John the Theologian, and further south the dirt track down to Psili Ammos, a sandy cove that cars simply can't reach. This is what makes a quad rental worth it here: you go from café harbor views to a monastery courtyard to an empty beach, all in one afternoon, on your own schedule.
Patmos is small, but it's steep and its lanes were never built with traffic in mind. Chora's alleys are narrow and best walked once you've parked at the edge, while the roads linking the villages twist tightly along the hillsides. A scooter struggles once the tarmac runs out, and several of the island's best beaches, Psili Ammos among them, sit at the end of a dirt track with no paved access at all. A **quad rental in Patmos** gives you the ground clearance and grip to handle those tracks, plus easy parking wherever the lanes get tight.
Requirements depend on how the quad is registered, so it's worth confirming the exact category with the rental company before you book — in Greece, quads fall under light quadricycle or quadricycle rules and always require a valid driving licence. Non-EU visitors should bring an International Driving Permit alongside their home licence. Rental shops typically ask for a minimum age around 18–21 and hold a deposit, usually as a credit-card authorization, for the duration of the rental.
Expect to pay 15–20 EUR per day in low season, rising to 30–40 EUR in high season, with premium models running 40–55 EUR per day.
High season runs July–August, when prices peak and availability is tightest — book early if you're travelling then. Low season stretches November–March, with lower prices but fewer open rental shops. For the best balance of good weather, open businesses and manageable prices, aim for May–June or September–October.
Greece drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for every rider, and police enforcement is strict with substantial fines for skipping one. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on the open road, though Patmos's narrow, winding lanes rarely let you get near that. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, tightened to 0.2 g/l for novice drivers. Keep in mind that leaving the tarmac for beach or dirt-track riding usually falls outside your insurance cover, so ride those sections with extra care.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service.
