Forget the postcard image of Greece for a moment — Kilkis is a different kind of trip, one made of open plains, forested hills and a lake that stretches to the border with North Macedonia. Renting a quad here means you can start your morning at Lake Doirani, ride the shoreline road past fish tavernas and the old WWI memorial, then push on into the hills before lunch. Later you can chase the mineral-blue water of Pikrolimni or vanish under the old trees of Mouria Forest. It's a quiet corner of Greece that rewards travellers who like to go looking rather than sightsee from a bus window.
This is exactly the kind of terrain a quad bike was built for. Kilkis has almost none of the city traffic you'd fight in Athens or Thessaloniki, but it makes up for it with distance and rough ground — forest tracks through the Kroussia range, unpaved paths around the lake, and village backroads that a scooter or hire car simply can't handle. If you want to rent a quad bike in Kilkis, this is where that extra ground clearance and four-wheel grip actually earns its keep.
You'll need a driving licence, though the exact category depends on how the quad is registered — light quadricycle or quadricycle — so it's worth confirming with the rental company before you book. Most operators set their own minimum age, generally 18, sometimes higher. A deposit is standard, usually held on a credit card, and non-EU visitors should carry an International Driving Permit alongside their licence.
Average rental prices run 15–20 EUR per day in low season and 25–35 EUR per day in high season, with premium models reaching 35–50 EUR per day.
High season runs July to August, with the best prices and availability found outside it. May, June, September and October give you comfortable riding temperatures without peak crowds or rates, while November to March is the cheapest stretch but also when many rental shops scale back. If you're planning a summer trip, book ahead — local operators are smaller than what you'd find on the islands.
Greece drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for every rider, and enforcement is strict with real fines behind it. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on open roads, and the blood-alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l for most drivers, tightening to 0.2 g/l for novice riders. Keep in mind that rental insurance almost always excludes unpaved roads and off-road use, so ask your rental company exactly what's covered before you head into the hills. Have a nice trip!

When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service.
