Pyrgos sits right at the heart of Santorini, and once you climb its stepped lanes toward the old Venetian fortress at the top, you'll understand why. This is where you can rent a quad bike in Pyrgos and reach places most tour buses simply can't — the village's own maze of narrow, whitewashed streets, then the switchback road up to Profitis Ilias, the island's highest point at 566 metres, where the caldera, the volcano and, on a clear day, even Crete open up below you.
Santorini's roads outside the main routes are narrow, steep and often unpaved, which is exactly the terrain a quad handles best. A quad bike rental in Pyrgos lets you take the gravel track down to Red Beach, bounce along the coastal stretch to the lunar pumice cliffs of Vlychada, and squeeze through village lanes that would strand a rental car. Pyrgos itself sits near the island's geographic centre, so it makes a natural base for looping out to both coasts in a single day.
Greece requires a driving licence for quad bikes, and the exact category depends on how the vehicle is type-approved, so it's worth confirming with the rental company before you book. Non-EU visitors should carry an International Driving Permit alongside their licence. Rental shops generally set a minimum age of 18 and may ask for a minimum licence-holding period. Expect to leave a deposit, usually as a credit-card hold, with the amount set by the individual operator.
Our listings start at 15 EUR per day in low season, though a standard 450cc-class ATV typically runs 40–70 EUR per day in high season, and premium buggies or larger twin-seat quads can reach around 90–100 EUR per day at peak times.
High season runs July to August, when prices peak and the best quads go quickly, so booking a couple of weeks ahead is wise. Low season stretches from November to March, with the cheapest rates but fewer operators open. May, June and September strike the best balance — comfortable riding weather, fuller availability and prices well below the August peak.
Greece drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for riders and passengers, and enforcement is strict. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on the open road, though Santorini's narrow, gravel-strewn lanes rarely let you approach that. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l generally, but a stricter 0.2 g/l applies to motorcyclists and novice riders. Keep in mind that rental insurance almost always excludes unpaved roads and beaches, so check with your operator before heading off the tarmac toward Red Beach or Vlychada.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
