Roquetas de Mar rewards anyone willing to cover a little ground. The town stretches along a long, flat coastline, and the best of it — from the old fishing quarter by the lighthouse to the marina and beyond — sits within easy reach of a saddle. Pedal the seafront promenade past Playa Serena, stop at the Faro de Roquetas de Mar for the view, or push on to the wetlands of Punta Entinas-Sabinar where flamingos outnumber tourists. This is a town built for slow discovery, and a bicycle is how you actually get to see it.
What makes Roquetas de Mar so well suited to cycling is its geography: the terrain is flat, the sun is out for most of the year, and the town is organised around one long, uninterrupted seafront promenade running from the old town down to Aguadulce. Walking that stretch takes too long, and driving means circling for parking near the beach or the marina. A bicycle rental in Roquetas de Mar solves both problems at once — you can stop wherever the view is good and keep going the moment you're ready.
No licence is required to rent a bicycle in Spain, at any age, which makes this one of the simplest vehicles to book on our website. Most rental shops set their own minimum age, commonly around 16, and will ask for ID. A deposit is usually required, normally blocked on a credit card in your name, with the amount depending on the shop and the type of bike. No International Driving Permit is needed — just show up, sign, and ride.
Prices move a lot with the season. Expect EUR 3–5 per day in low season, and EUR 8–15 per day in high season, with premium models and e-bikes running EUR 15–25 per day.
High season on the Spanish mainland runs through July and August, plus Easter week — book ahead if you're travelling then, since prices climb and availability tightens. Low season stretches from November to March, when prices drop and you'll have no trouble finding a bike on short notice. For the best mix of good weather and manageable prices, aim for May, June, September or October.
Spain drives on the right, and the same applies to bicycles sharing the road. Helmets aren't legally required for adult cyclists riding within town, though they're compulsory for anyone under 16 and for all riders on interurban roads. Speed limits in built-up areas top out at 50 km/h, dropping to 30 km/h or even 20 km/h on shared single-lane streets, so traffic moves slowly and predictably around cyclists. Vehicles overtaking you must leave at least 1.5 metres of clearance, and if you're out after dark outside town, lights and a reflective garment are required. The blood alcohol limit for drivers sharing the road with you is 0.5 g/l, so traffic tends to be cautious — one more reason a bicycle rental in Roquetas de Mar feels like an easy, low-stress way to explore.

When you make a reservation of a bicycle you also can order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, GPS navigation, clip pedals, side cases, rear rack, basket, light, gloves, speedometer, individual guide or tour, full insurance, one-way rental, or delivery to the address of your choice.
