Benidorm's skyline of high-rises gets all the postcards, but turn inland and the landscape changes fast: hairpin roads climbing toward Guadalest, dirt tracks curling around the foothills of Puig Campana, whitewashed villages tucked into the hills above the coast. A quad puts all of that within reach in a single afternoon. Start at the Balcón del Mediterráneo, the clifftop viewpoint above Playa de Poniente, then head for the reservoir and castle at Guadalest or the cool pools of the Algar waterfalls — places a rental car handles awkwardly and a walk simply can't cover.
Benidorm's old town is compact and largely pedestrianised, so it rewards walking, not driving. The real case for a quad rental starts once you leave it: the roads to Altea and Guadalest wind through hills that a scooter would struggle with fully loaded, and the tracks around Sierra Helada and Puig Campana are unpaved in stretches, exactly where a quad's higher clearance and grip earn their keep. It turns a scattered list of inland villages, lookout points and half-hidden trails into one continuous loop rather than several separate outings.
Road-legal quads in Spain require a driving licence, and rental companies will normally ask to see a car (category B) licence rather than anything specific to quads. If you're travelling from outside the EU, bring an International Driving Permit along with your home licence, as many rental desks ask for it. Most operators set their own minimum age, commonly 18 or 21, and hold a deposit on a credit card in the renter's name — the amount depends on the vehicle and the company.
A basic single quad runs around 15–20 EUR per day in low season, rising to roughly 35–50 EUR per day in high season for the same class. Larger-CC models or two-seat buggies typically cost 50–80 EUR per day. Rates vary a lot between self-drive rentals and guided tours, and by whether fuel and insurance are bundled in, so treat these as a starting point rather than a quote.
July and August are Benidorm's busiest and priciest months, so book ahead if you're travelling then. November through February is quieter and cheaper, while May, June, September and October offer a good middle ground — comfortable riding weather without the peak-season crowds or prices.
Spain drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for riders and passengers of mopeds and motorcycles on every road, and for cyclists under 16 or on any interurban road. Speed limits run up to 120 km/h on motorways, down to 50 km/h in built-up areas and as low as 20–30 km/h on narrow single-lane urban streets, so keep an eye out as roads shift from open highway to village lane. The blood alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, tightening to 0.3 g/l for drivers with under two years' experience.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
