El Campello's seafront is easy on foot, but the real reason to book a quad here is what lies just beyond it. Ride out from the port past the Illeta dels Banyets, and within twenty minutes the flat coastline gives way to the dry hills around Busot — a landscape of ravines and dirt tracks a rental car simply can't touch. If you want to rent a quad bike in El Campello, this is the appeal: coast in the morning, countryside in the afternoon, all on one machine.
The town itself is compact, so a quad covers the promenade, the fishing port and the coves quickly, without the fuss of parking. But its real strength shows once you turn inland. The tracks toward Aigües de Busot and the ravines near Barranco del Juncaret are narrow, unpaved and often steep — exactly the terrain a quad is built for, and exactly what a bicycle or a standard hire car can't handle. It's this mix of an easy coastal cruise and genuine off-road access that makes El Campello a quad town rather than just another beach stop.
Road-legal quads in Spain require a driving licence, and rental companies typically ask to see a car (category B) licence. Most operators set their own minimum age, usually 18 or 21, and may want the licence held for a minimum period. If your licence isn't from the EU, bring an International Driving Permit along with it — many desks ask for it. A deposit is standard practice, usually blocked on a credit card in your name, with the amount depending on the vehicle and the operator.
Prices swing a lot with the season. In low season you're looking at around 15–20 EUR per day, rising to 35–50 EUR per day in high season, and premium models can run 55–70 EUR per day.
High season on Spain's mainland runs through July and August, plus Easter week, when demand — and prices — peak. Low season stretches from November to March, with the calmest, cheapest rentals. If you want good weather without the summer crowds or cost, May, June, September and October hit the sweet spot, and it's worth booking a few days ahead once you're past the quiet winter months.
Spain drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for anyone riding a moped or motorcycle-type vehicle, on every road, at all times. Speed limits top out at 50 km/h in built-up areas, dropping to 30 km/h or 20 km/h on narrower urban streets, so keep an eye on signage as you move between the coast and the village centre. The blood alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, tightened to 0.3 g/l for newer drivers. Handheld phones and headphones are off-limits while riding.
