Fuengirola doesn't ask you to choose between the beach and the mountains — here, both are within reach the same afternoon. Rent a quad in Fuengirola and you can trade the crowded seafront for the switchback road up to Mijas Pueblo, then come back down and finish the day cruising the Paseo Marítimo with the sea on one side and the town on the other. It's the kind of freedom that public transport and rental cars simply can't match on this stretch of coast.
What makes this vehicle such a natural fit here is the terrain itself. Fuengirola sits wedged between a busy coastal strip and the steep, rocky folds of the Sierra de Mijas, so you're constantly moving between smooth seafront tarmac and rougher inland tracks. A quad handles both without a second thought, and it gets you into places a scooter would struggle with and a car couldn't park near. Hill towns like Mijas and coastal neighbours like Benalmádena and Marbella all open up without you ever needing to think about where to leave the car.
Road-legal quads require a driving licence, and rental companies in Spain will typically ask to see a standard car licence. Most operators set their own minimum age, usually 18 or 21 depending on the model. A deposit is standard practice, normally blocked on a credit card in the renter's name, with the amount varying by vehicle and operator. If your licence isn't from the EU, bring an International Driving Permit along with your home licence — rental desks commonly ask for both.
Prices swing quite a bit with the season. Expect roughly 15–30 EUR per day for basic single-seat quads in low season, rising to 40–70 EUR in high season, with larger or two-seater off-road-spec models running 70–120 EUR per day at the summer peak.
July and August are Fuengirola's busiest and priciest months, so if you're travelling then, book ahead to lock in your model and rate. For lighter crowds and lower prices, aim for the low season between November and February, or catch the sweet spot in May–June or September–October, when the weather is still excellent for riding but the rates haven't hit their summer peak.
Spain drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for every rider and passenger on a quad, at all times, and it's worth wearing one you're comfortable with for a full day out. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas, dropping to 30 km/h or even 20 km/h on shared single-lane urban roads, and 90 km/h on conventional roads outside town. The blood alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, so keep any drinking for after you've parked. Handheld phone use while riding is prohibited, so plan your route before you set off.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
