Songkhla doesn't announce itself the way Phuket or Chiang Mai do, and that's exactly the appeal. Picture yourself buzzing along the promenade at Samila Beach with the casuarina trees throwing shade over the sand, then climbing the hill road toward Khao Seng to look down on the fishing boats bobbing off Ko Nu and Ko Maeo. A quad bike rental in Songkhla gets you to both in one easy morning, no timetable, no haggling with a driver.
What makes this city work so well for a quad is the spread of its sights. The old town's shophouse lanes, the gulf coastline, and Ko Yo island across the lake are each worth a stop, but too far apart to walk between. Roads outside the centre are flat, quiet, and easy to read, and the causeway over to Ko Yo turns the ride itself into part of the sightseeing rather than just a way to get there. A scooter's tiny storage and a car's struggle to park in the old town's narrow streets both work against you here — a quad splits the difference nicely.
Rules for quads are looser than for scooters or motorcycles, since most are ridden off-road or on private tracks rather than registered for public roads — but expect shops to set their own minimum age, usually 18, and to hold a deposit. Ask whether cash or a photocopy of your passport is accepted instead of the original; that's better practice than handing over your passport itself. If your route includes any public road stretch, carry your home licence and an International Driving Permit (IDP) just in case, and check with the shop what their policy covers.
Expect to pay around 600–900 THB per day in low season, rising to roughly 1,200–2,000 THB per day in high season for a standard quad. Larger or 4x4 utility models can run 2,000–3,000+ THB per day at peak times.
High season runs November through February, when the weather is driest and demand — and prices — peak, especially around December and January. Low season stretches from May to October with the southwest monsoon bringing more rain but far better rates and easier availability. Booking a week or so ahead is plenty outside the busiest weeks, but if you're travelling in December or January, reserve earlier to lock in your price.
Thailand drives on the left, so keep to the left and overtake on the right. Helmets are compulsory for rider and passenger alike and checked with on-the-spot fines, so wear one even on a short beach run. Speed limits sit around 60 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on rural roads outside town. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.05%, so leave the bike parked if you've been drinking — checkpoints are common, especially around holidays, and riding without a helmet or the right documents can void your insurance.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
