Picture this: the ferry drops you at White Sand Beach, the road climbs into jungle almost immediately, and by lunchtime you could be eating grilled squid over the water at Bang Bao Fishing Village or cooling off under Klong Plu Waterfall. That's the pace a quad bike rental in Ko Chang lets you set — slow when a view demands it, quick when the next beach is calling. Songthaews run on their own schedule and your feet will only get you so far on an island this hilly; a quad puts the whole loop within reach in a single day.
Ko Chang isn't a scooter island once you leave the main strip. The ring road turns steep and winding fast, and several of the best detours — toward viewpoints, mangrove villages, quieter beaches — drop onto unpaved tracks with loose gravel and sudden gradients. A quad's wider stance and open frame handle that terrain far more forgivingly than two wheels, especially if you're not an experienced rider. It also suits the climate: no fairing trapping heat, just open air and a breeze the whole way round.
Thai law requires a motorcycle-category licence to ride on public roads — either a Thai licence or your home licence paired with an International Driving Permit carrying the motorcycle entitlement. Quad bikes themselves are mostly run as off-road or tour vehicles rather than registered for the public road, so exact requirements can vary by operator; bring your IDP along regardless. Most shops set a minimum age of 18, and you should expect to leave a deposit — ask to pay cash or leave a passport copy rather than handing over your actual passport.
Expect around 550–600 THB per day in low season, rising to roughly 900–1,300 THB per day in high season. Larger 2-seat or 4x4 models can run 1,500–2,000+ THB per day even outside peak months.
High season runs November through April, when the roads are dry and the island is busiest — book a few days ahead if you're arriving around the Christmas/New Year or Chinese New Year peaks, since availability tightens fast at those prices. Low season, May to October, brings heavier rain but far lower rates and no need to book much in advance.
Thailand drives on the left, so keep to the left and overtake on the right. Helmets are compulsory for both rider and passenger and are enforced with on-the-spot fines — wear one even on short rides. Speed limits sit around 60 km/h in built-up areas and up to 90 km/h on rural roads, though Ko Chang's hills and bends rarely invite going that fast anyway. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.05%, and roadside checks are common, especially around holidays — riding without a licence or helmet will also void your rental insurance.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
