If someday you will be in Vung Tau, Vietnam, do not think that your only options for getting around are walking and public transport. You can always rent a quad bike in Vung Tau on our website and make the most of a coastline built for sand and off-road riding. Vung Tau is the classic weekend escape from Ho Chi Minh City, reached by road or high-speed ferry since it has no airport of its own, and its beaches, headlands and nearby dune country give a quad bike plenty to do.
A quad bike suits Vung Tau because so much of the best riding lies on Back Beach's open sand and the dune-and-coast road running north toward Long Hai and Ho Tram, well beyond where a scooter or car would want to go. Away from the sand, hilltop landmarks and quiet headlands round out a day, letting you combine beach riding with sightseeing without depending on taxis.
Most operators ask that you be at least 16–18 years old, and an ordinary category B (car) licence is normally accepted since riding takes place on the beach and designated coastal or dune tracks rather than public roads. A deposit, in cash or by card, is standard and refunded once the quad is returned undamaged. First-timers are usually given a short safety briefing, and a guide often rides along for routes that head out toward the dunes at Ho Tram. If you plan to take a quad onto public roads, check with the rental company first, as an International Driving Permit and a motorcycle-class licence may then apply. A helmet, and often goggles for the sandy stretches, are provided and should always be worn.
Quad bike rental in Vung Tau starts from around 400,000 VND per day for a standard single-seat ATV, rising to roughly 700,000–1,100,000 VND for a larger machine, a two-seater, or a longer guided ride up the coast. Many operators also sell shorter sessions, since an hour or two on the beach is often enough: expect about 200,000–400,000 VND per hour depending on the quad's size and whether a guide is included. Prices shift with the seasons:
Weekends year-round bring extra demand from Saigon day-trippers, so book a day or two ahead if you want a particular model, especially on a Saturday. Budget more for a dry-season weekend ride and expect the best rates on quieter weekdays in the wetter months.
Vung Tau is dry and sunny from November to April, the most popular season for beach and dune riding, and weekends throughout the year draw large numbers of visitors up from Ho Chi Minh City by road and ferry. May to October brings the rainy season, with afternoon downpours common but mornings often still clear. If you want reliable dry weather, aim for the dry season, ideally on a weekday; if you are flexible and want to avoid the Saigon weekend crowds, a quiet weekday any time of year usually offers the calmest riding.
In Vietnam you ride on the right-hand side of the road. A helmet is compulsory on any public road, and most operators require one on the beach and dunes as well. Quad bikes are generally kept to the beach, coastal tracks and other designated off-road areas rather than mixed into ordinary street traffic, so follow your guide's route closely. Where quads do cross public roads, speed limits of around 40–50 km/h in built-up areas apply. There is zero tolerance for drink-driving. Take soft sand and any water crossings slowly until you are used to how the machine responds.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (side-by-side/UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you want more protection you can add CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you prefer to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the riding area, full insurance, delivery to your hotel.
Most of our quad bike rentals in Vung Tau have years of experience on the local beaches and dunes and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike in Vung Tau, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
