Pisa is famous for one leaning tower, but the city rewards anyone who looks past it. A quad-bike rental in Pisa lets you leave the crowds at Piazza dei Miracoli behind and head straight for the pinewoods of Tenuta di San Rossore or the seafront promenade at Marina di Pisa, covering ground on your own schedule instead of waiting on a bus timetable.
The historic center is compact and largely closed to cars, so you won't get far there on four wheels anyway — the real appeal lies just outside it. Pisa sits on a flat coastal plain, with pine forests, beaches and the hills of the Monti Pisani all within a short ride, and a quad handles that mix of pavement, packed trails and country roads far more comfortably than a car stuck in narrow lanes or a bike on a long stretch of coast.
Licence requirements depend on the machine: lighter road-legal quads can be ridden on an AM licence, while heavier or more powerful ones need at least a B1, or a full car (B) licence. Ask your rental operator which class their vehicle falls under before you book. Most companies set their own minimum age, typically 18, on top of the legal minimum. If your licence was issued outside the EU/EEA, bring an International Driving Permit. Expect to leave a deposit, usually a credit card hold sized to the vehicle's value, along with a copy of your ID or passport.
Average rental price runs 15–25 EUR per day in low season and 35–55 EUR per day in high season, with premium models reaching 60–90 EUR per day.
High season runs June through August, plus the Easter period, when coastal spots like Marina di Pisa and Tirrenia get busy and prices sit at their highest. Low season stretches from November to March, with quieter roads and cheaper daily rates, though some seasonal outlets scale back their hours. For the best balance of good weather, open availability and fair prices, aim for May, June, September or early October, and book a few weeks ahead if you're travelling in July or August.
Italy drives on the right. Helmets are mandatory for every rider on a quad-bike, no exceptions by age. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas, 90 km/h on ordinary roads outside town, and up to 130 km/h on motorways, though lighter quadricycles may face their own lower caps — check with your rental company. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, dropping to zero for anyone who has held a licence for less than three years. Keep dipped headlights on at all times when riding outside built-up areas.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service.
