Naples doesn't reveal its best side from a car window. Behind the city, the ground itself gets restless — climbing toward the rim of Mount Vesuvius, dipping into the steaming basin of the Solfatara, wrapping around crater lakes like Averno. A quad-bike is the vehicle that actually belongs on that ground. You can rent a quad-bike in Naples on our website and spend the day tracing volcanic ridgelines and dirt tracks that a rental car would simply refuse to attempt.
The historic centre of Naples is tight, chaotic and honestly better explored on foot. But step outside it, into the Phlegraean Fields, and the terrain changes completely: unpaved crater roads, loose volcanic soil, hills with no proper asphalt and coastal tracks that dead-end at a viewpoint rather than a car park. This is exactly the kind of ground a quad handles with ease and a scooter or hatchback can't touch, which makes a quad-bike rental in Naples less of a novelty and more the practical choice for anyone who wants to get past the city's edges.
Licence requirements depend on the machine: lighter, less powerful quads can be ridden on a moped-level AM licence, while heavier or more powerful models need at least a B1 or a full car (B) licence — ask the operator which class their vehicle falls under. Riders under 21 or holding a licence less than three years should expect stricter rules around alcohol too. If your licence was issued outside the EU/EEA, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it. Rental companies generally set their own minimum age, typically 18, and a deposit is standard, usually held on a credit card and scaled to the vehicle's value.
Average rental prices run from EUR 15 to EUR 25 per day in low season, and EUR 35 to EUR 60 per day in high season. Larger-engine or newer models can reach EUR 70 to EUR 90 per day at the peak of summer.
High season runs through June, July and August, plus Easter, and this is when prices and demand both peak — book well in advance if you want a specific model. Low season stretches from November to March, with quieter roads, lower prices, and some seasonal outlets running reduced hours. If you can, aim for May, June, September or early October: warm, dry, and far less crowded than the summer rush.
Italy drives on the right. Helmets are mandatory for every rider and passenger on a quad, no exceptions, and dipped headlights must stay on at all times. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas, 90 km/h on ordinary roads outside town, and higher on dual carriageways and motorways, though lighter quadricycles are usually restricted from the fastest roads. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5 g/l, dropping to zero for drivers under 21 or those who've held a licence less than three years. Historic centres also fall under ZTL camera-enforced restricted zones — riding a quad into one without a permit brings an automatic fine that can arrive months later, so it's worth checking your route before setting off.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
