Kemer looks tidy from the marina, but its real character is in the mountains behind it and the coves you can only reach by road. Rent a motorcycle here and you can be tracing the switchbacks above Adrasan by mid-morning, standing over the eternal flames at Yanartaş by sunset, and back at Liman Caddesi in time for dinner — all in one day, with nobody but you deciding the pace.

This stretch of coast was built for two wheels. Kemer's own centre is small and easily walked, but everything worth seeing — Olympos, Phaselis, Tahtalı Dağı, the trout village of Ulupınar — sits 10 to 40 km out along a winding coastal or mountain road where cars crawl and parking runs out fast. A motorcycle or scooter clears that distance quickly, leans into the curves rental cars can't, and lets you pull over wherever a viewpoint or a swimming cove catches your eye.

Top 10 things to see in Kemer by motorcycle

  1. Olympos & Çıralı beach — a pine-backed beach ride past the ancient Lycian ruins of Olympos, a classic short hop south from Kemer.
  2. Yanartaş (Chimaera) — a short ride and hike above Çıralı to the natural eternal flames, a favourite sunset destination for riders.
  3. Phaselis ancient city — coastal ruins with three bays just north of Tekirova, reached along an easy, scenic stretch of coast road.
  4. Tahtalı Dağı — ride up through the pines to the cable-car station for summit views over the Mediterranean.
  5. Göynük Canyon — a popular canyon-and-waterfall stop just a few kilometres from Kemer, an easy detour off the coast road.
  6. Adrasan Bay — a quieter cove south of Olympos, reached via a winding mountain road that riders come back for.
  7. Kemer Marina & old town promenade — the natural start and end point of any ride, with the yacht marina and Atatürk Bulvarı waterfront.
  8. Moonlight Park & the Kemer beach road — a coastal cruising strip along Liman Caddesi, ideal for an easy evening loop.
  9. Ulupınar trout village — a short climb into the hills above Beycik for trout restaurants built right over the stream.
  10. Antalya old town (Kaleiçi) & Düden Waterfalls — a longer day trip north along the D400 coastal highway to the historic harbour and waterfalls just outside Antalya.

What do you need to rent a motorcycle in Kemer?

Requirements scale with engine size. Machines up to 125cc generally fall under the M or A1 licence category, while anything larger needs the matching A1, A2 or full A entitlement on your home licence — a car-only licence will not cover a full-size motorcycle. Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your national licence, as it's usually requested at pickup. Most operators set the minimum age at 18, higher for bigger bikes, and will ask for a deposit as a card hold or in cash; agree on the amount before you sign, and hand over a passport photocopy rather than the original.

How much does it cost to rent a motorcycle in Kemer?

A basic 125cc scooter runs roughly 950–1200 TRY per day in low season and climbs to about 1800–2800 TRY per day in high season. Larger touring or branded motorcycles, 500cc and up, typically start around 3500 TRY per day.

  • July and August are the most expensive months on the coast.
  • April, May and October offer the best balance of good weather and full operator availability.
  • November to March is cheapest, but many smaller Kemer rental shops close for the winter entirely.

When to book a rental motorcycle in Kemer?

High season runs from June through August, sometimes stretching into early September, and this is when both prices and demand peak — book at least a few days ahead if you're arriving in midsummer. Low season, November to March, is quieter and cheaper where shops stay open, though choice narrows. For the best mix of comfortable riding weather and full operator choice, aim for late spring or October.

Local traffic rules in Kemer

Turkey drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for both rider and passenger on any motorised two-wheeler, including small scooters, and police do check. Speed limits favour caution on these coastal roads — expect 50 km/h through built-up stretches and lower posted limits for motorcycles than for cars on the open road. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.05%, enforced with routine roadside breath tests, so it's not worth the risk after a long lunch in Ulupınar. Midsummer heat can hit 35–40°C, so plan gear-heavy rides for the morning or evening rather than the middle of the day.
