Belek doesn't feel like a resort strip once you get past the golf courses — it feels like the gateway to Roman ruins, river gorges and beach towns that most package-holiday guests never reach. Renting a motorcycle here means you can be lying on Belek Plajı at sunrise and wandering the columns of Aspendos Ancient Theatre by mid-morning, with the road doing all the work public transport won't.
This stretch of the Turkish Riviera is built for it. The coastal roads around Belek are wide, flat and well-paved, so even riders without much experience can handle the run to Side or Antalya comfortably, while the inland climb through Köprülü Canyon and the Taurus foothills gives more confident riders real corners and real views. Distances between sights are too long to walk and too scattered for taxis to make sense day after day — a scooter or motorcycle covers ground the way this region actually deserves.
For anything above a basic moped you'll need a licence that covers the engine class you're renting — bring the motorcycle entitlement on your home licence, since a car-only licence won't cover a full-size bike, and pack an International Driving Permit alongside it. Most operators set the minimum age at 18, though larger motorcycles can require riders to be older. Expect to leave a deposit, usually a card hold; a photocopy of your passport plus the deposit is the safer arrangement than handing over the original document.
A standard scooter or 125cc motorcycle runs around 1,200–1,400 TRY per day in low season and climbs to roughly 2,000–3,000 TRY per day in high season, with larger-displacement or newer bikes going from about 3,000–5,000 TRY per day.
High season runs June to August and often stretches into early September, when both prices and demand are at their peak — book ahead if you're arriving then. Low season falls between November and March, when many coastal shops trim their fleets or close altogether, so availability rather than price becomes the thing to plan around. May, June, September and October give you the best riding weather without the full summer crowd or heat.
Turkey drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for both rider and passenger on any motorised two-wheeler, including 50cc scooters, and this is actively enforced. General speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on rural roads, with motorcycles held to somewhat lower limits than cars. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.05%, and roadside breath testing is routine with heavy penalties for anyone over it. Resort traffic gets dense and lane discipline loose in summer, so ride defensively and keep your headlight on, day or night.
