Kemer's coastline is postcard-pretty, but the real reason to come here is what sits behind the beach: pine-covered foothills, canyon trails and a coastal road that keeps dipping into forest. Hop on a quad and you can trade the marina promenade for the dirt tracks of the Beydağları Coastal National Park, ride out past the ruins of Olympos, and end the day watching the Yanartaş flames flicker on the rock at dusk. It's the kind of afternoon a rental car simply can't deliver.
Kemer's old town is a maze of narrow, pedestrian-heavy lanes that neither a car nor a scooter handles well, but the terrain surrounding it is built for a quad. Unpaved forest roads, canyon paths and coastal tracks connect Olympos, Phaselis and the hills above Çıralı in loops of 5 to 20 kilometres — short enough for a half-day ride, rough enough that a quad bike is genuinely the more practical choice. If you're looking to rent a quad bike in Kemer, this is exactly the kind of landscape it was made for.
Guided off-road quad tours in Kemer usually don't require a licence — just a short briefing before you set off. If you plan to take a quad onto public roads instead of off-road trails, it needs to be road-registered and you'll need an appropriate driving licence; bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) to be safe. Riders are typically expected to be at least 18. A deposit is standard, either as a card hold or in cash — ask your operator for the exact amount, and avoid handing over your passport as security; a photocopy plus deposit is the safer arrangement.
A self-drive quad rental runs from around 500-600 TRY per day in low season up to roughly 1200-1600 TRY per day in high season, and larger two-seat or buggy-style quads can reach 1700-2400 TRY per day at the peak. Many local operators price guided safari tours per person rather than per vehicle, so ask whether you're booking a rental or a tour package.
High season runs June through August, when the coast is busiest and prices peak — book a few days ahead if you want your pick of vehicles. Low season stretches from November to March, when many coastal outfits scale back but prices drop accordingly. For comfortable riding without the crush of midsummer heat, May, June, September and October are the sweet spot.
Turkey drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for every rider on a motorised vehicle and this is actively enforced, so wear one even on a short forest loop. Speed limits in built-up areas top out at 50 km/h, rising to 90 km/h on rural roads, with off-road quad trails generally kept well below that. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.05% for private drivers, and roadside checks are routine, so leave the beer for after the ride. Summer afternoons regularly hit 35-40°C, so an early morning or late-afternoon start is far more comfortable than midday. Once you're ready, use the search form at the top of the page to book.
