Picture leaving Paphos harbour behind and pointing a quad-bike inland, dust rising as the road turns to track and the pine forest of the Akamas opens up ahead. This is a place where the best sights sit past the point where the tarmac gives up — the limestone walls of Avakas Gorge, the wild sand of Lara Bay, ridgelines with the sea on one side and nothing but scrub on the other. If you want to rent a quad bike in Paphos, this is exactly the kind of terrain it was built for, and our website makes it easy to book one for the day.
Paphos is a city of two halves: a walkable old town and harbour, and then a hinterland of dirt roads, river valleys and hill villages that buses and taxis simply don't reach. A scooter won't get traction on loose gravel, and a hire car will turn you back at the first unsurfaced track. A quad handles both, and the distances involved — usually 10 to 30 km between town, coast and inland villages — make for a comfortable day loop rather than an expedition. Add Cyprus's dry climate, and most of the year the trails are in rideable condition.
A full car driving licence (category B) is normally accepted for road-legal registered quads in Cyprus, and rental shops will expect you to be at least 18. An International Driving Permit is required alongside your licence if it wasn't issued in the EU. You'll also need to leave a deposit, usually held on a card — if a shop asks to hold your passport instead, you're entitled to offer a card deposit in its place. Helmets are compulsory for rider and passenger alike.
Expect to pay around 15–25 EUR per day in low season, and 35–50 EUR per day in high season; premium models run 55–70 EUR per day.
April, May, September and October give you the best riding conditions — warm, dry, long daylight, without the punishing midsummer heat. High season runs through June, July and August, when prices peak and availability tightens fast, so book ahead if you're travelling in August. Low season, November through March, is your best bet for value, though it's also the wettest stretch and mountain routes can turn cold. On the coast around Paphos, quad-biking works year-round; the real limit is summer heat, so in July and August ride early or late in the day and carry more water than seems necessary.
Cyprus drives on the left, so keep that in mind on roundabouts, which run clockwise with priority given to traffic already on them. Helmets are compulsory for quad riders and passengers, and you'll be fined on the spot for riding without one. Speed limits are 50 km/h in town, 80 km/h on rural roads and 100 km/h on motorways. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.05%, and using a hand-held phone while riding is not allowed. Many rental agreements exclude unsurfaced tracks for insurance reasons, so always check with your operator which of the routes above are actually covered before you set off.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
