Picture yourself leaning into the switchbacks below Aït Benhaddou, the mudbrick towers of the ksar rising out of the desert ahead, or climbing the Tizi n'Tichka Pass with the whole High Atlas unfolding at every bend. Ouarzazat is the launch pad for exactly this kind of riding, and on our website you can rent a motorcycle in Ouarzazat and go find it yourself, instead of watching it pass by from a tour van window.
The town itself is compact, but almost everything worth seeing sits half an hour to two hours out along open, lightly trafficked roads — the kasbahs of the Skoura and Drâa valleys, the gorges toward Dadès and Todra. Walking won't get you there and a petit-taxi won't wait for you at every viewpoint, but a bike will, and most of these loops stay under 150 km round trip, easily doable in a single day.
You'll need a valid motorcycle licence for anything above the smallest engine sizes — a car-only licence generally won't cover it, so check the exact class against the bike you want. Most rental companies set a minimum age of 21, even though the legal minimum is 18, and some ask that you've held your licence for a minimum period. Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your national licence, and expect to leave a deposit, usually in cash or as a card imprint, plus your passport details.
Average rental price is around 270 MAD per day in low season, rising to roughly 400–450 MAD for a comparable standard bike in high season. Larger-displacement or newer premium models run about 600–800 MAD per day.
Book ahead for March to May and September to November: mild temperatures, long daylight, and clear mountain passes make these the best months to ride, and they're also when demand — and prices — run highest. If you can handle the heat, July and August bring quieter roads and lower rates, though midday temperatures inland regularly top 40°C. Winter is riskier for the Tizi n'Tichka route, since snow can close the pass.
Morocco drives on the right, overtaking on the left. Helmets are legally required for riders and passengers, and it's worth wearing one regardless of how strictly it's enforced locally. Speed limits generally run 60 km/h in towns, 100 km/h on open roads, and 120 km/h on motorways, with checks common at town entrances and exits. Morocco takes a zero-tolerance approach to drink-driving, so keep the ride and the mint tea separate. Watch for donkey carts, mopeds riding against traffic, and unlit vehicles after dark — it's best to avoid riding outside town once the sun goes down.
On our website you can rent the following types of motorcycles: cruiser, sport, touring, standard, classic, dual-purpose, dirt bikes, street, naked bikes or roadsters, choppers, custom, streetfighter, sport-touring, dual-sport, on-road, off-road, adventure motorcycles, supermoto, scrambler, motorcycle with sidecar, enduro, motocross mx, trail, motards, tricycles, bikes with automatic or manual gears, luxury motorbikes.

Most providers include basic third-party liability insurance in the rental price, with options to upgrade to fuller coverage that reduces or removes your deposit liability in case of damage or theft. Always confirm exactly what is and isn’t covered before you set off.
When you make an online motorbike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: integral helmet, GPS navigation, intercom, unlimited mileage, top case, side cases, boots, jacket, gloves, individual guide or tour, map, full insurance, one-way rental, or delivery to your chosen address.
Most of our motorcycle rental providers have years of experience and will equip you with a well-maintained bike, helmet and insurance for the ride ahead. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a motorcycle locally, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
