Marmaris has a way of pulling you off the coast road and into the hills the moment you rent a quad. One minute you're weaving past the marina below Marmaris Castle, the next you're climbing pine-forest switchbacks toward Turunç, engine growling over dirt and gravel where a rental car would simply have to turn back. Stop for a swim at Kumlubük Bay, then keep climbing to the ruins at Amos, where a half-buried Carian theatre looks straight down over the water.
The old town and marina streets around Marmaris get thick with tourist traffic in summer, which is exactly where a quad stops being a novelty and becomes the smarter choice. But the real case for it is the terrain behind the resort: steep mountain passes, forest tracks and village lanes that a scooter struggles with and a car can't reach at all. A quad turns that stretch of hills into the trip itself, opening up villages, caves and viewpoints that most visitors never see.
Guided quad-safari tours usually only require a safety briefing, no licence needed. If you plan to take a quad onto public roads rather than a signed off-road route, it needs to be road-registered and you'll need an appropriate driving licence — a car licence alone isn't automatically enough. Bringing an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your home licence is recommended. Most operators set a minimum age of 18, though this can vary. Expect to leave a deposit, either as a card hold or in cash; if a shop asks to hold your passport instead, a photocopy plus deposit is the safer option.
A standard single quad runs around 600–700 TRY per day in low season, climbing to roughly 1,500–2,000 TRY per day at the height of summer. Two-seat or larger-cc models cost more, up to around 2,000–2,800 TRY per day in high season.
High season runs June through August, when the coast is busiest and prices sit at their yearly peak — book ahead if you want a specific model. Low season stretches from November to March, with far lighter demand and lower daily rates, though some shops close entirely. For the best balance of good weather and manageable prices, May, June, September and October are worth targeting.
Turkey drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for both rider and passenger on any motorised two-wheeler, and this is actively enforced, so don't skip it even for a short ride. General speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on rural roads, with motorcycles and quads held to lower limits than cars. The blood-alcohol limit is 0.05% for private drivers, and roadside breath testing is routine, so treat it as effectively zero if you're planning to ride. Summer heat on the coast regularly hits 35–40°C, so an early morning or late afternoon start makes full protective gear far more bearable than a midday ride.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
