Ljubljana's compact old town is easy on foot, but the countryside wrapped around it is where the real fun starts. Rent a quad in Ljubljana and within twenty minutes you can be crossing the flat gravel tracks of the Ljubljansko barje marshes or climbing toward the summit views on Krim. Trade the cobblestones for open air and let the city's green ring do the talking.
This is really a city built for two very different kinds of travel. The centre is pedestrianised and best explored slowly, while the hills, gorges and farmland just outside town are laced with gravel and dirt tracks that a car can't handle and a bicycle won't cover in a day. A quad bridges that gap, giving you quick, direct access to terrain like the Iška gorge or the back roads around Škofljica without a long drive first.
Road-legal quads generally require a valid driving licence, usually the standard car (category B) licence, though the exact classification can depend on the machine itself, so it's worth confirming with the rental company when you book. Off-road tours run on private land or closed trails are often more flexible about which licence they accept. Most operators set their own minimum age, commonly 18, and will ask for a deposit — typically a card hold or cash, scaled to the value of the quad — plus your passport or ID. An International Driving Permit isn't a strict legal requirement for EU/EEA licence holders, but non-EU visitors should bring one along just in case.
Prices swing a lot with the seasons. Our own low-season listing starts at around 15 EUR per day, while a standard single-seat quad in high season typically runs 40 to 60 EUR per day. Larger or two-seat quads with more power can reach 70 to 90 EUR per day at the peak of summer.
July and August are Ljubljana's busiest and most expensive months, so book ahead if you're travelling then. Many operators scale back or close entirely from November to March, when winter tyre rules make off-road riding impractical anyway. For the best mix of good weather, open trails and calmer prices, aim for May, June or September.
Slovenia drives on the right, and helmets are compulsory for every rider, no exceptions. Dipped headlights must stay on at all times, even in daylight. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h on open roads outside town — quads and quiet country lanes go together well within those limits. The blood-alcohol limit is a strict 0.05%, so treat any drinking before you ride as off the table entirely.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
