There is something different about wrapping your hands around a set of handlebars in a place built for speed. If someday you find yourself near Silverstone, United Kingdom, don't settle for waiting on a coach outside the circuit gates. You can rent a motorcycle in Silverstone on our website and ride straight past the queues, out onto the quiet lanes toward Buckingham and beyond, with Stowe House's landscaped gardens and the wooded paths of Salcey Forest waiting just a short ride away.
Silverstone is really a village built around a racetrack, and it shows — there's no train station, and local buses won't get you far into the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire countryside that surrounds it. A motorcycle solves that instantly. The B-roads out here roll gently rather than twist sharply, which makes them ideal for an easy, scenic tour rather than a technical challenge, and having your own bike means you can pair a morning at the circuit with an afternoon exploring market towns and National Trust estates without waiting on anyone else's schedule.
You'll need a full motorcycle licence, with the exact category (A1, A2 or A) depending on the power of the bike you choose — check with the rental company which one fits the model you want. Riders on a provisional licence with only CBT generally cannot rent. Legally the minimum age is 17, but most rental companies set their own higher minimums and expect a minimum period of holding the licence. A deposit is standard practice too, usually taken as a hold on a credit card in your name, with the amount depending on the bike. An International Driving Permit is not required in the UK.
Expect to pay GBP 20-25 per day in low season and GBP 35-50 per day in high season, while premium models run GBP 55-80 per day.
High season runs June through August, and it's worth booking ahead if your trip lines up with the Grand Prix or a track-day weekend, since bikes get snapped up fast at those GBP 35-50 rates. Low season, from November to February, is easier on the wallet and the calendar — you can often book closer to your travel date. If you want the best of both, May, June and September tend to bring long daylight hours and milder weather without full summer congestion.
Remember to ride on the left and give way to traffic from your right at roundabouts. Helmets are compulsory by law for riders and passengers on motorcycles. Speed limits are posted in mph: 30 mph in built-up areas, 60 mph on single carriageways, and 70 mph on dual carriageways and motorways. The blood alcohol limit in England is 0.08%, but the safest approach is simply not to drink before you ride, and it's worth keeping dipped headlights on at all times for visibility on these country roads.
On our website you can rent the following types of motorcycles: cruiser, sport, touring, standard, classic, dual-purpose, dirt bikes, street, naked bikes or roadsters, choppers, custom, streetfighter, sport-touring, dual-sport, on-road, off-road, adventure motorcycles, supermoto, scrambler, motorcycle with sidecar, enduro, motocross mx, trail, motards, tricycles, bikes with automatic or manual gears, luxury motorbikes.

Most providers include basic third-party liability insurance in the rental price, with options to upgrade to fuller coverage that reduces or removes your deposit liability in case of damage or theft. Always confirm exactly what is and isn’t covered before you set off.
When you make an online motorbike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: integral helmet, GPS navigation, intercom, unlimited mileage, top case, side cases, boots, jacket, gloves, individual guide or tour, map, full insurance, one-way rental, or delivery to your chosen address.
Most of our motorcycle rental providers have years of experience and will equip you with a well-maintained bike, helmet and insurance for the ride ahead. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a motorcycle locally, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
