Poprad puts the High Tatras almost within arm's reach, and a quad bike is the easiest way to make the most of that. One morning you can be splashing through forest tracks toward Štrbské Pleso, and by afternoon you're climbing toward the ridgelines around Tatranská Lomnica with Lomnický štít rising ahead. Rent a quad bike in Poprad and the whole region opens up — mountain valleys, castle towns and quiet backroads that a bus timetable would never let you string together in a single day.
This city sits right where the flat Poprad basin meets the steep wall of the Tatras, which means the roads change character fast: smooth valley tarmac gives way to gravel and forest track within a few kilometres. A car struggles with that mix, and on foot the distances are simply too big — Spiš Castle or the Levoča hills are 20 to 40 minutes away, comfortably doable in an afternoon loop but well beyond walking range. A quad handles both surfaces without fuss, which is exactly why quad rental in Poprad works so well here.
Note that some routes near Hrebienok and the Studený potok valley fall inside Tatra National Park, where motorised access can be restricted to marked roads — check current conditions with your rental operator before setting out.
Road-legal quads in Slovakia must be registered and insured, and the licence class you'll need depends on how the machine is homologated. Some rental quads are off-road or closed-circuit only and need no road licence at all, so always confirm with the operator which type you're getting. Most companies set a minimum age of 18 for powered rentals, regardless of what the law technically allows. Expect to leave a deposit, usually as a credit-card hold, along with your ID or passport. An International Driving Permit isn't required if you hold an EU or EEA licence; non-EU visitors should bring one along just in case.
Prices swing a lot with the season. In low season you're looking at roughly 15-25 EUR per day, high season runs 35-55 EUR, and premium models can reach 60-90 EUR per day.
June through August is high season, when the Tatras fill up with hikers and quad demand climbs with it — book a few weeks ahead if you're set on summer dates. November to March is low season, and many mountain-area rentals cut back hours or close altogether once snow settles in. For the best mix of good weather and thinner crowds, May, June and September are hard to beat.
Slovakia drives on the right, and helmets are compulsory for riders and passengers on any moped or motorcycle-class vehicle. Speed limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h outside them; quads, like mopeds and bicycles, aren't allowed on motorways or expressways at all. The blood-alcohol limit is a strict 0.0‰, with zero tolerance for riders. Dipped headlights must stay on at all times, day or night, and phone use is only permitted hands-free.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
