Picture yourself easing off Place du Casino as the evening light hits the Belle Époque façades, then climbing out of the city onto the Grand Corniche, with the whole Riviera coastline stretching out below. This is the kind of view Monaco keeps for people on two wheels — and it is exactly why you should rent a motorcycle in Monaco rather than try to see the principality on foot.
Monaco packs its palace, casino, marina and old town into barely two square kilometres, but the real reward lies just outside: the three corniches carved into the cliffs above the sea. Traffic here is dense, parking is scarce, and the road network is a tangle of ramps, loops and tunnels that punishes cars and rewards anything narrow enough to slip through. A motorcycle rental in Monaco lets you dodge the queues, park where cars can't, and treat the coast road as the attraction it actually is.
You need a valid motorcycle licence, with the engine size you're allowed to ride tied to your licence class and how long you've held it — rental companies commonly ask for a minimum licence-holding period before releasing larger bikes. Most set their own minimum age too, usually 18–21. An International Driving Permit is recommended if your licence isn't from the EU/EEA. Expect a deposit blocked on a credit card in your name, scaled to the value of the bike, plus your passport or ID on file.
Budget around 25–35 EUR per day for a scooter or small motorcycle in low season, rising to 60–100+ EUR per day in high season. Larger displacement or premium sport and touring bikes run 150–300+ EUR per day, especially in summer.
High season runs June to August, plus the last week of May for the Formula 1 Grand Prix, when much of the road network closes for the race and rates peak — book well ahead if you're coming for it, or avoid that week entirely. Low season is November to March, with the mildest prices but wetter weather and slippery tunnel surfaces. April to early June and September to October are the sweet spot: open roads, comfortable temperatures and better rates, ideal for the run out along the Grand Corniche or toward Menton.
Monaco drives on the right. Helmets are compulsory for riders and passengers on every motorised two-wheeler, and headlights must stay on, dipped, day and night. The whole principality counts as a built-up area, so the standard limit is 50 km/h, dropping to around 30 km/h in restricted zones and tunnels — there's no motorway inside Monaco. The drink-drive limit is 0.5 g/l of blood, enforced with routine roadside testing, and handheld phone use while riding is banned. Give way to the right at unmarked junctions, follow the one-way loops carefully, and park only in marked bays or the underground car parks — the whole road network is heavily camera-monitored.
On our website you can rent the following types of motorcycles: cruiser, sport, touring, standard, classic, dual-purpose, dirt bikes, street, naked bikes or roadsters, choppers, custom, streetfighter, sport-touring, dual-sport, on-road, off-road, adventure motorcycles, supermoto, scrambler, motorcycle with sidecar, enduro, motocross mx, trail, motards, tricycles, bikes with automatic or manual gears, luxury motorbikes.

Most providers include basic third-party liability insurance in the rental price, with options to upgrade to fuller coverage that reduces or removes your deposit liability in case of damage or theft. Always confirm exactly what is and isn’t covered before you set off.
When you make an online motorbike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: integral helmet, GPS navigation, intercom, unlimited mileage, top case, side cases, boots, jacket, gloves, individual guide or tour, map, full insurance, one-way rental, or delivery to your chosen address.
Most of our motorcycle rental providers have years of experience and will equip you with a well-maintained bike, helmet and insurance for the ride ahead. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a motorcycle locally, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
