Riga rewards travelers who go beyond the Old Town's cobbled lanes, and a quad-bike rental in Riga is the easiest way to do it. Ride the AB dambis promenade with Old Town's spires across the Daugava, then head out to Jūrmala for a stretch of white sand along the Gulf of Riga, roughly 25 km from the city. Loop back through Mežaparks' forest trails and you've covered more ground in an afternoon than most visitors manage in three days on foot.
Riga's medieval core is compact and mostly pedestrianized, so walking suits it fine — but everything worth reaching beyond it sits just out of comfortable walking or e-scooter range. Latvia's flat terrain and well-paved secondary roads make a quad practical for both quick city-adjacent detours and longer countryside routes, without any technical off-road demands getting in the way.
Road-legal quads in Latvia are typically registered under category B1 or B, so a standard car licence usually covers you — check with your rental company, as the exact category can depend on how the machine is registered. Most operators set their own minimum age, often above the legal licence age, and will ask for a deposit as a card hold or cash alongside your passport or ID. An International Driving Permit isn't required for EU licence holders, though it's worth carrying one if your licence isn't from the EU.
Expect to pay 15–20 EUR per day during low season, rising to 30–45 EUR per day in high season, with premium models running 50–70 EUR per day.
June through August is high season, and it's worth booking a few days ahead once the good weather locks in demand. For lower prices and quieter roads, aim for late May, early June or September — you'll still get warm, ridable weather without peak-season rates. Winters bring snow and ice, and most rental operators pause or scale back from roughly November to March.
Latvia drives on the right, and dipped headlights must stay on at all times, day or night — a rule visitors often forget. Helmets are compulsory for riders on mopeds, scooters and motorcycles; on a quad, wearing one is strongly advised even where not strictly mandated. Speed limits sit at 50 km/h in built-up areas and 90 km/h outside them, with higher limits possible on certain main roads in summer, so always follow posted signs. The blood alcohol limit is a strict 0.05%, so it's simplest to save the drinks for after you've parked.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service.
