Ouagadougou rewards anyone willing to get off the sidewalk. Rent a quad in Ouagadougou and you can weave between the boulevards downtown, cut through sandy side streets toward the Parc Urbain Bangr-Weoogo, and finish the evening watching the sun drop over the Lac Municipal de Ouagadougou — a loop that would take you an entire day on foot or in shared taxis.
This is a city built for a quad rather than a scooter. Paved boulevards give way without warning to loose, rutted tracks, and the heat makes any long walk between sights unappealing. A quad shrugs off the sand and potholes on the way to the outskirts, keeps its footing on the dirt approach roads near the dam and the parks, and frees you from waiting on taxis that may or may not show up.
Quad rental here runs through tour operators rather than high-street shops, and most will ask for your passport and a valid driving licence, plus an International Driving Permit to be safe. Expect a minimum age around 18, sometimes with a minimum time held on your licence. A deposit is standard practice, usually in cash XOF, and operators will often want to hold your passport or ID as security — card payment is rare outside the big hotels, so keep cash on hand.
Average rental price is around 9,500–10,000 XOF per day during low season, rising to roughly 15,000–20,000 XOF per day in high season, with larger or newer models running 22,000–30,000 XOF per day.
Book ahead for November to February: this is high season, when the dry, cooler harmattan weather draws the most visitors and prices sit at their peak, especially around FESPACO in late February of odd-numbered years. If you'd rather ride on a budget, June to September is low season, though rain can turn unpaved tracks to mud. March to May is quieter on demand but brings serious heat, often above 40°C.
Traffic keeps to the right, with overtaking on the left, and roundabouts are common downtown — treat right of way as a loose guideline rather than a guarantee. Helmets are legally required, though not everyone on the street wears one, so ask your operator for one and use it. Built-up areas are generally posted at 50 km/h. Police checkpoints are frequent, drink-driving is an offence, and it's safest to avoid alcohol entirely before riding. Carry your passport, licence and the quad's papers with you at all times.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.

Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service.
