Hong Kong rarely shows visitors its quieter side — the one beyond the tram lines and neon of Central. Rent a quad-bike in Hong Kong and you can trade the crowded pavements for the open coast roads of Sai Kung, climb toward Tai Mo Shan, and finish the day watching the surf roll into Big Wave Bay near Shek O. It's a different city out there: fishing villages, headland trails, and sea views that most tourists never get close to.
The city's core is dense and built for MTR trains and taxis, not casual exploring — but step outside Hong Kong Island's centre and the terrain changes fast. The New Territories are full of country parks, coastal roads and hill routes that public transport reaches slowly or not at all. A quad-bike rental in Hong Kong is the practical way to link a morning beach stop with an afternoon in the hills, all in a single easy, stable ride.
Quad-bikes are generally ridden on private or off-road sites rather than public roads, so most operators ask for ID and a short safety briefing rather than a full driving licence. A minimum age of 18 is standard, and a deposit — usually cash or a card hold, alongside your passport details — is normal practice. No International Driving Permit is required for this type of rental.
Prices for a standard quad run from around CNY 40 per day in low season up to roughly CNY 90-150 per day in high season, with premium or larger-engine models reaching CNY 150-250 per day at peak times.
October to December is high season — the weather is at its best and availability tightens, so book a few days ahead if you're travelling then. June to August is low season, with lower prices but a real chance of rain or a typhoon disrupting plans, so it pays to stay flexible. Chinese New Year, which falls in late January or February depending on the year, also pushes demand and prices up.
Hong Kong drives on the left, unlike mainland China, so be alert if you're used to right-hand traffic. Helmets are compulsory for riders on any motorised vehicle. Speed limits are generally low and tightly enforced within built-up areas, with cameras common across the territory. The blood-alcohol limit is effectively zero tolerance, so leave the drinking for after you've parked. Ride within your route and always follow the operator's briefing on where quad-bikes are permitted.
On our website you can rent the following types of quad bikes: sport ATV, utility quad, two-seater quad, automatic quad, manual-shift quad, 4x4 quad, buggy (UTV), off-road racing quad, kids' quad, and larger touring ATVs.
On our website you can hire quad bikes from the following manufacturers: Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Linhai, TGB.
Usually basic third-party insurance is included in the rental price. If you wish to have more protection you can purchase additional CDW insurance, which limits your risk to the amount of your deposit. If you wish to rent a quad bike without a deposit and with zero risk, you will need to add full insurance to your reservation.
When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
Most of our local quad bike rentals have many years of experience and will provide you with a well-maintained quad, helmet, guide and friendly service. The number of companies we work with is increasing every day, so if you want to rent a quad bike, just use the search form at the top of the page. Have a nice trip!
