Central Stockholm belongs to walkers and cyclists, but the moment you cross onto Djurgården or push out toward the Nacka Nature Reserve, the terrain changes completely — and that's where a quad bike earns its keep. Picture yourself rattling along the gravel paths of Djurgården past Skansen, then opening up across the meadows of Gärdet before the forest closes in around you near Tyresta. Further out, the winding shoreline roads of Värmdö lead toward the archipelago, past pine forest and quiet inlets that most visitors never see from a bus window.
Stockholm is really two cities stitched together: a compact old town best explored on foot, and a sprawling green belt of parks, forest and coastline that a car can't easily reach and a bicycle covers too slowly. A quad bike rental in Stockholm is built for that second city — the trails through Ekoparken, the rocky tracks around Nacka, the long rural stretches out toward Vaxholm and the archipelago. Gamla Stan and Södermalm are better left to your own two feet, but everything beyond them opens up once you're on four wheels.
What you need depends on how the machine is registered. Road-legal quads generally call for a car or motorcycle licence, while terrain-registered machines require a terrain-vehicle licence — the rental operator will confirm which class applies to their fleet. No international driving permit is required in Sweden. A deposit is standard practice, usually held on your card, with the exact amount varying by vehicle and operator.
Expect to pay from around 170–250 SEK per day in low season, rising to roughly 500–900 SEK per day in high season, with larger or newer ATV models reaching up to 1200–1500 SEK per day.
June to August is high season and the best window for riding — long days, dry trails and full access to the archipelago roads, but also the busiest and priciest stretch, so booking a few weeks ahead is wise. November through March is low season, with cheaper rates but cold, short days that make most routes impractical. May and September sit comfortably in between, often the sweet spot for good weather without peak prices.
Sweden drives on the right. Helmets are mandatory for anyone riding a motorcycle or moped-class vehicle. Dipped headlights must stay on at all times, day and night. Speed limits run 50 km/h in built-up areas, 70–100 km/h on rural roads and up to 110–120 km/h on motorways, though posted signs always take priority. The blood-alcohol limit is just 0.02%, effectively zero tolerance, so plan your rides with a clear head.

When you make an online quad bike reservation you can also order the following extra services and equipment: helmet, goggles, gloves, individual guide or instructor, photo and video service of your ride, transfer to the starting point of your ride, full insurance, delivery to the address you choose.
